This is the definitive version of the classic game of survival at sea.

You are a character aboard a lifeboat. You’ll get points for surviving and the survival of your secret love and any treasures you can bring back. You’ll also have a secret hate. You get points of they don’t survive.

Each turn represents a day at sea where you might row for shore or mug one of the other passengers to get their stuff or their coveted position on the Lifeboat. The person in the front of the boat gets first pick of the provisions that float by. The person in the back of the boat chooses the navigation card to play. The navigation card determines who is thirsty and who goes overboard.

Richard Garfield calls “Lifeboat” a classic. Zee Garcia said the classic deserves a modern version with full color rules and examples.
